Victor's Dog Food Recall: Everything You Need to Know

## In November 1, 2023, Mid America Pet Food issued a voluntary recall of three lots of Victor Super Premium Dog Food, Select Beef Meal & Brown Rice Formula, due to the potential presence of Salmonella. This recall is separate from the recall announced in September 2023, which affected one lot of Victor Super Premium Dog Food, Hi-Pro Plus.

The following Victor Super Premium Dog Food products are included in the recall:

* Select Beef Meal & Brown Rice Formula

* 5-pound bags, lot code 1000016890

* 15-pound bags, lot code 1000016891

* 40-pound bags, lot code 1000016892

* Best-by date of 6/12/2024

*What to do if you have affected product:*

If you have any of the affected product, you should immediately stop feeding it to your dog and dispose of it in a sealed bag. You should also thoroughly clean and disinfect any surfaces that may have come into contact with the food or your dog's food bowl.

*Signs of Salmonella poisoning in dogs:*

Salmonella can cause a variety of symptoms in dogs, including:

* Lethargy

* Diarrhea

* Vomiting

* Fever

* Abdominal pain

* Loss of appetite

* Dehydration

If you notice any of these symptoms in your dog, contact your veterinarian immediately.

*Preventing Salmonella contamination:*

There are a number of things you can do to prevent Salmonella contamination in your dog's food and water bowls:

* Wash your hands thoroughly with soap and water before and after handling your dog's food or water bowls.

* Clean and disinfect your dog's food and water bowls daily.
